Frequently asked questions
What does an XRechnung API cost?
At NormAPI: nothing to validate, and to generate €49 a month for 500 invoices, €149 for 2,500 or €299 for 6,000 — two months cheaper each when paid yearly. An account includes 25 generated invoices a month free, and validation never counts against it. Generating in volume from your own ERP costs €599 a month for 150,000 invoices a year. All prices net, no setup fee; Starter, Business and Scale have no minimum term.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes. Starter, Business and Scale are also available yearly, for the price of 10 months — two months free: €490, €1,490 and €2,990 a year. The allowance stays monthly and the plan stays the same. Volume runs for 12 months anyway.
What does the API cost for 100,000 invoices a year and more?
Up to 150,000 generated invoices a year, the Volume plan costs €599 a month on a 12-month term — about €0.048 per invoice. Each further invoice costs €0.04, billed once a year. Validation is free on every plan and never counts. For well over 150,000 invoices a year we make an individual offer. What the contract covers — availability, rule-set updates, exit — is on the enterprise page.
What counts as a generated invoice?
Every successful POST /v1/invoices — whether UBL, CII or ZUGFeRD PDF. Rejected requests (say, an invoice that fails validation) don't count. Validation requests never count.
What about ruleset updates?
Included in every plan — that is the point of NormAPI. KoSIT updates the ruleset roughly every six months; we track the updates and your integration stays unchanged. The version currently in force is in every API response (X-Normapi-Ruleset) and in the docs.
Do I need a credit card?
No. Create an account, make a key, start — 25 generated invoices a month are free and validation never counts. Paying starts above the allowance.
Where is data processed?
In the EU (Amsterdam). Invoice content is processed but never stored — how, is on the security page. We conclude a data processing agreement with every customer, whatever the plan.
Is there an SLA?
On the Volume plan, yes: availability, response times and liability are set in the individual contract. Starter, Business and Scale carry the target from the terms — 99.5% availability per calendar month, with no claim to credits. How the service is run and what happens in an outage is on the enterprise page.
Can prices still change?
They can change, but never retroactively: what applies when you subscribe applies for your term. What design partners have been promised — three months free and 50% off the first year — holds either way.
